perfect for lasagna 4 layers large crowd. and by pyrex-of course its worth the price.
Glass went at least a foot each direction, found shards about three feet away in the middle of the kitchen floor, not to mention on my sons bare feet. Don't get me wrong, I love my Pyrex kitchenware.But.after several years of use, this particular one shattered explosively. Opposite from the other reviewers, mine was cold, I had removed it from the freezer (I had chilled candy in the freeze) placed it on a glass stove at room temp.after approx an hour my teenage son went to remove a piece, and the dish violently shattered. And ruined a beautiful batch of Sea Salt Caramels. I have never seen this happen with any of my other Pyrex.just a warning to others, maybe it's just not made like it used to be.I'm still using the Pyrex that my parents received for their wedding 60 years ago.
My relatively new Pyrex baking dish just exploded violently when I took it out of the oven and placed it on top of the range (which was at room temperature). There was glass everywhere and I feel quite fortunate not to have been injured. Apparently the composition of the glass has been changed in the last few years. If you are going to use one of these dishes please keep children and pets out of the kitchen.
This baking dish is the perfect size. I wanted to double my blueberry buckle and this worked perfectly. Also was great for my over-sized zucchini I stuffed this summer. Easy to clean as well.
I like to make a sour cream banana cake and it reacts with the aluminum which turns the outside black. Amazon seems to be jacking up prices. I bought this to replace an aluminum cake pan. I just made a quick apple crisp last night and it turned out great. Maybe that's why Amazon came down on their price this week, but I also bought a Lock & Lock container so the shipping fee was for two items and therefore they were a lot cheaper at World Kitchen including the shipping. This pan was just what I needed. I did not buy it at Amazon because of their excessive price (at the time $20.00).
I found it cheaper at Worldkitchen.com. I wanted a non reactive pan at a reasonable price. I am not sure why but as an Amazon prime account holder I am disappointed. It can take the over sized recipes that I make and it will be great for lasagna. Anyone who has a larger family will appreciate the extra size. That included the shipping fee. [.].
